The Law of Trinity Verifies Trini Homo and vice verse (7) - the Duality of Our Salvation

How? It's simple-so simple that even a child can be newly created. The life of every human being is uncertain. Everybody knows nothing about what it will be one hour after from this time on. Consequently, there has to be an instant salvation. Sheer "grace of God" with no effort on our part. It is because of the pure creative work of God Himself. As a creature I have nothing to do with this creation. Just looking at the love of God as fully manifested on the cross of the Son of God giving Himself for me in loving me. That's all. Then I begin to repent in tears of my sinful and selfish living not knowing the mother-like, father-like love of God.

It is to receive "the Comforter" to live together forever as "One". Hence the Lord Jesus said, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God"(Jh 3:5). A new creation means to become a "duality" person, as "head"(Christ) and "body"(you). Man is of "duality" origin. Namely, the spirit originated from the breath of life of God "breathing into the nostrils of Adam" and the body made of "the dust of the earth".

And now in the new or last creation this duality consists of Christ as "the Spirit" and me as "the body"(my body and spirit altogether). And so the Lord Jesus breathed on the disciples when He said "Receive ye the Spirit"(Jn 20:21,22) with the same action He had taken as He made the first man Adam "a living soul"(Gn 2:7).
Paul rightly explains as regards this by saying "Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body"(1Co 6:13).

This is the structure of our salvation, new birth and new creation. That is, Christ(the Comforter, the Holy Spirit) plus any of us as "one".  Or the Son plus the Father as One with myself as one(Jn 14:20). This oneness with the Father through the Son has made us the sons of God. The role(function) of the spirit as head to the body is to do every thing for the body and not for itself. It is the same with the body. The two act at the same time because they are one, not two. And so the simultaneity of action is necessary to this relationship of body and head.

Dong nothing for itself and everything for others in the sense of a bodily tissue denotes in our life SELF-DENIAL as our Lord has taught us. Our Head the Last Adam has shown us the example(model) of self-denial giving Himself for me in loving me(Gl 2:20), Thus He teaches what love is(1Jn 3:16) and commands us(the body) to follow Him the Head as Paul well indicates, "Even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved(1Co 10:33)'. Again he says "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ"(1Co 11:1), "For even Christ pleased not himself, but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me"(Rm 15:3).

Therefore Paul affirms: "None of us(Christians who declare to be saved) liveth to himself, and none dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord, and whether we die, we die unto the Lord, whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living"(Rm 14:7,8),

Again he emphasizes: "For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died; and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. "(2Co 5:15). What Paul here means is none other than self-denial.

If we do not follow Him in this self-denial, living for ourselves and not for Christ alone(Rm 14:7/2Co 5:15), then the tragic result will be that "we crucify to ourselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame"(Heb 6:6). The blessed Oneness thus broken, the warnings of the Lord will be fulfilled - "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven"(Mt 10:33), "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels'(Mk 8:38).

By receiving the Comforter I am identified with Christ's death, burial, resurrection in the glorious body of the supernatural realm(immortality), ascension and with sitting at the right hand of God(Eph 2:6). Me together with Him as "one" at the right hand of God! Everything under my feet standing together with Him Who loved me and gave Himself for me with the same love to me forever!  In everything we serve(Col 3:24) Christ our Lord, making melody in our heart to the Lord(Eph 5:19)!

This we call "the duality" of our salvation. We rejoice(Php 4:4) and have peace in the redemptive work of Christ our Lord and at the same time well know that we ought to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling(Php 2:12).

We are saved to serve and work as the sons of God to "be about our Father's business"(Lk 2:49), as our Lord Jesus said "As the Father hath sent Me, even so send I you"(Jh 20:21). Again we stress the point that we ought to "please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved(1Co 10:33). Woe to those who do not "hate their lives in this world"(Jh 12:25). Almost everyone of them who call themselves "Christian" these days love life of this world, being fruitless owing to "the deceitfulness of riches, the cares of this world and the lusts of other things"(Mk 4:19), contrary to the warning "not to love the world"(1Jh 2:15).

Saved solely by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and becoming immediately the sons of God, we should at once be put on the immortal like angels for we have every right to be. Nevertheless it is not so with all of us. The reasonㅡwe are at any cost to "fill up on our part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in our flesh for His body's sake, which is the church"(Col 1:24), "suffering in His behalf"(Php 1:29).

With our glorious immortal bodies we cannot accomplish this kind of service for our Lord. This "suffering" can only be done through this present fragile body. Thus the purpose why we should remain as weaklings in this world even though at present we are the sons of God(1Jh 3:2) is clear enough. So we dare not live in this present world, loving it. Instead, we gladly(because this is our service and worship to our Loving Lord) bear our own cross as if we were going up to the mound of Golgotha following the footsteps of our Lord daily(Rm 12:1/Lk 9:23).
